“Jane the Virgin” Season 5 will not be premiering until 2019, which has fans of the critically acclaimed comedy program feeling restless and in need of a fix. This is why news involving the stars and cast members of the program is of such interest. There’s the matter of Gina Rodriguez (Jane Villaneuva) directing an episode of the upcoming “Charmed” reboot, for starters. Cast members of the show have also been sharing some behind-the-scenes looks via social media.
As recently reported by Entertainment Weekly, Gina Rodriguez will be taking a stab at directing the 11th episode of the upcoming “Charmed” TV show. This won’t be the first time that the actress has sat in the director’s chair either since she already did so for one episode of her own show. In fact, the premiere of “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 will be directed by the star herself.
This should make for quite the interesting first season of the rebooted series, which is a departure from the original. The choice to cast three minority women for the main roles has been a particularly contentious decision within certain communities. This isn’t the case with “Jane the Virgin” Season 5, though, so the drama is fully contained behind the TV screen.
Speaking of things behind screens, cast members of the comedy show have been sharing quick looks into how things are going with “Jane the Virgin” Season 5. Yael Grobglas and Rosario Dawson have been particularly game at doing this, posting clips and photos on Instagram.
The details shared are nothing major and there are no spoilers for fans to fear. The posts are nothing more than a way of showing how the cast members are just like regular people. They like to mess around, which should translate well when “Jane the Virgin” Season 5 premieres, whenever that will be.
