Jungkook has trended again on social media as the ARMYs around the world send their greetings and messages for his special day. It is not his birthday since he will be turning 23 in September, but fans greeted him as he made the date, Jan. 9, as his official day.
What is the day for?
As soon as the date approached, fans have trended the hashtag #JungkookDay on Twitter, and needless to say, it went on top of the most search and trending words. Allkpop reported that fans did not fail the idol singer as his “other” special was really remembered well, and he received lots of love.
The #JungkookDay started when in the 2018 BTS season greetings calendar, the 22-year-old marked Jan. 9 and wrote: "Even if you don't know what it is, trend JK Day." From then on, fans took note of the day, and now it is being celebrated too.
The charities from JK Day
The good thing about this fan day for Jungkook is that fans are choosing to celebrate or honor the day by doing charity works. Some of his fans donated to the Australian Wildlife Rescue, an organization that aims to help in saving animals from the forest fires while fans in Peru made donations for children’s education via "Sonrisas en Perú (Smiles in Peru)."
Meanwhile, Jungkook and Justin Bieber recently had their most recent interaction that excites the fans. They are commenting that it seems to show that the members of BTS and the “Love Yourself” singer is really keeping their friendship, though not close, up.
The interaction happened on social media when on Thursday, Jan. 9, Jungkook shared a link to Justin Bieber’s latest music video titled “Yummy.” He added a heart and thumbs up emoticon that fans find really sweet.
In response to the gesture, Bieber immediately expressed his gratitude to BTS for promoting his MV by retweeting Jungkook’s post and simply writing, "Thanks, guys." This is the second time that the BTS maknae and the Canadian singer have had an exchange on Twitter.
The first time was when Biebs greeted Jungkook, a happy birthday last year. Meanwhile, BTS is set to release their newest album “Map of the Soul: Persona 7” in February.
