BBC America’s “Killing Eve” season 3 has been confirmed for some time now, though its exact release date is still under wraps. But given that seasons 1 and 2 have had consistent premiere windows, it is very likely that the third season will open in April 2020.
It is not that hard to speculate on “Killing Eve” season 3’s release date unless BBC America wants to surprise fans with changes in the show’s annual schedule. Seasons 1 and 2 premiered exactly one year apart.
The second installment was ordered just hours before the pilot episode arrived on April 8, 2018. This strategy was repeated when BBC America confirmed “Killing Eve” season 3 less than a day before season 2 premiered last April 7.
The production of the show in the last two years has also been consistent in terms of its time frame. Both seasons were filmed in July 2017 and 2018, respectively. With all this information considered, an April 2020 release date for “Killing Eve” season 3 seems like a great possibility.
However, “Killing Eve” season 3’s April 2020 release date might only apply to fans in the United States. Just like the case in 2018 and this year, fans in the United Kingdom might catch “Killing Eve” season 3 two months later.
BBC reported in April that later release in the U.K. is due to the licensing deals that govern the show. The series is being ordered by BBC America, a company co-owned by BBC and AMC, that explains why it has the advantage of releasing the show first. On the other hand, the rights to air the show in the U.K. is solely owned by the British public service broadcaster. If the technicalities over the show’s distribution will not change, “Killing Eve” season 3 could be released in the U.K. in early June 2020.
