Netflix is still very quiet about the specific release date of “Lost in Space” season 2. Luckily, fans are getting bits of update from its cast members. For one, it was recently confirmed that post-production is not done yet.
One of the latest updates came from no less than Mina Sundwall. She will reprise her role as the young and well-trained mechanic Penny Robinson in “Lost in Space” season 2. According to her recent social media post, she still has some work to finish for the second installment of the series.

The 17-year-old actress shared a video in mid-April where she seems to be inside a recording room in front of a huge screen that is most likely playing some scenes she filmed for “Lost in Space” season 2. As expected, nothing from the screen can be clearly seen on the video, and there was not even an intelligible portion of the audio obviously to avoid fans from extracting any spoilers.
However, Sundwall did confirm that what she was doing in the video was for the post-production of “Lost in Space” season 2. “Doing a little jig because #LostinSpace season 2 post-production is a party,” the actress wrote. She also used the hashtag “work in progress” that clearly indicates there is more work to be done for the Netflix series.
What does this tell fans about “Lost in Space” season 2? This clearly means that the new episodes are far from being finished. So it is not surprising that Netflix has not yet announced its specific premiere date or even its release date window. This could also mean that the first official trailer might not drop anytime soon.
As earlier reported, there was a nine-month gap between the end of season 1 filming and its Netflix debut. Most of that time was most likely spent in post-production. Note that another cast member, Maxwell Jenkins, confirmed earlier that they have just finished filming in February. So Sundwell’s tweet is not at all surprising. This also leads to the speculation that “Lost in Space” season 2 could be released within the last quarter of 2019.
