McDonald's is returning a fan-favorite breakfast item that disappeared from store menus three years ago. The fast-food mega-chain has announced the highly anticipated return of the beloved Breakfast Wrap.
This delectable wrap comprises a pork sausage patty, two free-range eggs, bacon, a potato rosti, and cheese, all wrapped in a soft tortilla. According to AOL, diners can top it with brown sauce or ketchup. Previously made with folded eggs, the revamped Breakfast Wrap now features round, free-range eggs for an even better taste.
European Availability and American Prospects
Men's Journal reported that the Breakfast Wrap is set to make its triumphant comeback on February 7 in Ireland and the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, customers in North America will miss out on this experience unless they plan a trip across the pond.
However, McDonald's history of offering international items to American customers leaves hope that the Breakfast Wrap may eventually find its way back to menus in the U.S.
For those lucky enough to be in Ireland or the U.K. or planning a visit, the Breakfast Wrap can be purchased for £4.39, slightly over $5. Additionally, McDonald's offers a Breakfast Wrap Meal priced at £5.89, or a little over $7. Indulging in this tasty breakfast option will be a satisfying and affordable experience.
McDonald's Changing Menu Landscape
McDonald's has been making significant changes to its once-ironclad menu lately. The return of the Breakfast Wrap coincides with the reemergence of the delectable Strawberry and Créme Pie, available in select locations. Last month, the fast-food giant delighted fans with the comeback of the Snack Wrap and the Double Big Mac.
To stay competitive with chains like Shake Shack, McDonald's is also revamping its signature Big Mac, promising bigger and more satisfying burgers. Rumors have even circulated that the legendary "Super Size" option could return.
McDonald's has demonstrated a willingness to introduce international menu items to American customers. This was evident with the release of the Squishmallows Happy Meal in December.
Additionally, McDonald's spin-off restaurant CosMc's showcased several international menu items upon its Illinois debut last year. With this in mind, it is possible that the Breakfast Wrap could find its way back to American shores.
