Melania Trump is a fashion model before marrying successful businessman Donald Trump. When her husband ran for the US presidential elections in 2016, she eventually became the First Lady of the United States.
The First Lady’s secret messages
Becoming the FLOTUS is not an easy position, and although she could have tried her best, people will still criticize her for her actions and everything else. However, even if she is furious even if what upsets her is her husband, or have negative thoughts to say, she will refrain from doing so since she is the First Lady.
Now, it seems that Melania Trump found a way to express her frustrations and disagreements by dressing up accordingly. She was a model, and In Style reported that the 49-year-old started to express her thoughts and sends messages through the clothes she wears in public.
For instance, in 2015, when Donald Trump was still campaigning, he was caught stating that he can easily grab women “by the pussy.” In response, when her husband had to go on a debate with Hillary Clinton, Melania Trump chose to wear her pink Gucci pussy bow blouse.
It was said that although she doesn’t talk about the sexual assault claims against Donald, wearing that blouse was a superficial response to the actions of her husband. Also, when Dolce and Gabbana got involved in a racist scandal in 2017, she wore a dress from D&G for the New Year’s Eve party in Mar-a-Lago. It was said that in this incident, Melania Trump was sending a message that she lacks awareness and sensitivity to the public’s concerns.
Her message at the 2020 SOTU
Lastly, Melania Trump strikes again and sent a message at the 2020 Presidential State of the Union address. On Tuesday, she wore an all-black outfit from the Dolce & Gabbana designer brand. It was said that some of the politicians had worn dresses, ties, and blazers with symbolic meanings like Nancy Pelosi’s white suit that depict the advocacy for women’s equality, and the FLOTUS’ outfit is “muted” that seems to say she does not care.
