Compared to her husband, First Lady Melania Trump is known for being very private about her life and relationships with other people, such as Second Lady Karen Pence. A report reveals Melania’s way of somewhat purposely towering over her already modestly-sized colleague.
CNN reporter Kate Bennett, who is also an expert on the First Lady, with her unauthorized biography, “Free Melania” having launched in December, revealed some theories she had regarding Melania’s relationships with people in the White House. When it comes to her relationship with Karen Pence, the wife of vice president Mike Pence, Bennett said that it is not as good as people may assume it would probably be. She recalled sitting at the back of a C-32 military jet that the First and Second Ladies were also taking.
Bennett recalled that while Melania has a cabin of her own, she did not invite Karen Pence in with her, and also noticed that the First Lady did not even take off her four-inch-heels when they arrived in Texas. This led to Melania towering over Karen Pence by a lot, which is saying something given that the First Lady usually wears a shorter heel or sometimes flats when she is standing next to someone who is not as tall as her. This kind of relationship between the First and Second Lady comes in as a stark difference between their immediate predecessors, Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, who are known for having a good friendship like their husbands.
Recently it was reported that Melania along with Donald and her parents spent the weekend at the Mar-a-Lago resort. They were all seen boarding Air Force One and waving to the crowd of photographers and supporters that were present. As photos of the First Lady boarding the aircraft were shared online, she earned praise for her sartorial choices, with one commenter saying, “If she were married to a Democrat, she’d be on every fashion magazine cover.”
Their trip to the resort comes hours after the Secret Service at the area had to subdue a woman who reportedly committed a security breach. It was also during this time that Donald received updates regarding his impeachment trial, with the President likely getting acquitted for the charges against him due to republican senators voting against calling for new witnesses nor presenting new evidence.
