A new book about Melania Trump has been released on Sept. 1. The tell-all memoir is making headlines for its content that are mostly against the First Lady.
What’s more, the "Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship With the First Lady" was written by Melania Trump’s former adviser and friend so the public is really curious about it. The author, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff claimed that she saw deception and deceit while she was still friends with the FLOTUS.
The revenge tell-all book
In her book, Wolkoff said that she originally adored Melania Trump and she was a special friend of hers that is why she willingly took arduous tasks for her while she was still working at the White House. She shared that in fact because the jobs were too stressful, she even ended up in the hospital.
Wolkoff purported she did it all even if she finds them difficult because of her special friendship with the FLOTUS. However, despite everything, she was fired from her post as Melania Trump’s adviser.
Wolkoff further said that she was thrown under the bus when she was made as a scapegoat by the West Wing enemies for their incompetence and alleged corruption in relation to the expenses incurred during Donal Trump’s inauguration, as per The New York Times.
The author said her reputation and integrity were damaged permanently by the White House since they allowed inaccurate reporting of the media about her. Melania Trump did not defend her either so she felt really wronged. Because of this, her book about the First Lady could be considered as a “revenge book.”
Melania’s alleged tense relationship with Ivanka Trump
One of the most controversial claims that Wolkoff wrote in the publication was Melania’s supposed tense relationship with Ivanka Trump. She alleged that the model-turned First Lady even called her stepdaughter and her husband Jared Kushner as "snakes." Melania Trump often referred to Ivanka as “princess” as well.
Apart from name-calling, Wolkoff claimed that she and Melania planned the "Operation Block Ivanka" which was designed when Donald Trump is sworn to the office. The plan is to keep Ivanka out of the spotlight at her father’s inauguration.
"We were able to figure out whose face would be visible when Donald and Melania sat in their seats, and then when the family stood with Chief Justice John Roberts for Donald to take the oath of office,” Wolkoff wrote.
She added, “If Ivanka was not on the aisle, her face would be hidden while she was seated. For the standing part, we put Barron between Donald and Melania and made sure that Don Jr. stood next to Melania, not Ivanka.”
In response to these allegations, the White House responded through Melania Trump’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham. "The book is not only full of mistruths and paranoia, but it is also based on some imagined need for revenge,” BBC News quoted her as saying. “Sadly, this is a deeply insecure woman whose need to be relevant defies logic."
Grisham also told USA TODAY via email: “It’s unfortunate and concerning that she’s overstated their friendship and her very brief role in the White House to this degree.”
