As the official release date of “NBA 2K19” approaches, more player ratings are revealed online. On Wednesday, developers announced that Anthony Davis rated with 94 points, which is four points higher than that of former New Orleans Pelicans teammate DeMarcus Cousins.
Davis’ overall rating is one of the many unchanged player ratings compared to the “NBA 2K18” list. However, his advantage over Cousins grew by four points after the now Golden State Warriors player went down from 92 to 90 in the announced “NBA 2K19” ratings.
Unlike other players, Davis has not yet complained about getting the same overall rating as last year. However, fans have already flooded the game’s Twitter page, insisting that the 25-year-old center deserves to be ranked higher. Many suggest he should get at least a 96 overall rating in “NBA 2K19.”
Meanwhile, many basketball and video game fans have also complained that Anthony Davis’ hairstyle seen in his “NBA 2K19” render is not in keeping with the cut he has right now. Later, "NBA 2K" digital marketing director Ronnie Singh explained that Davis “is growing his hair back to what it is in this screen.”
Should Anthony Davis be rated 4 points higher than DeMarcus Cousins?

On the matter of Davis’ increased gap over DeMarcus Cousins in “NBA 2K19,” developers asked for fans’ approval through a follow-up Twitter poll. Out of almost 50,000 fans who voted, 58 percent were convinced that Davis was fittingly rated 4 points higher than his former teammate. Meanwhile, 29 percent voted that there should be a bigger gap.
In Karl-Anthony Towns’ case, he argued that he is “better than last year” while questioning why he got the same 91 overall rating in “NBA 2K19.” Some fans were quick to agree with him while others commented that he could have gotten worse ratings for his playoffs performance.
Based on all the announced “NBA 2K19” overall ratings, LeBron James remains at the top of the list with 98. Note, though, that the announced ratings do not represent all the top players in the video game. Developers have yet to announce ratings of many NBA superstars, like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. So the list can still change before the release of “NBA 2K19.”
“NBA 2K19” will be released on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on Sept. 11. But those who will purchase the game’s 20th Anniversary Edition with LeBron James on the cover can access the game on Sept. 7.
