The name of Odell Beckham Jr. has been making frequent appearances in the NFL rumor mill following a string of reports that claim he is no longer happy with the Cleveland Browns. It has led to speculations that he could opt for a trade after the 2019 season, but an official of his current team purportedly debunked this possibility.
NFL rumors: Odell Beckham Jr. will reportedly stay in Cleveland in 2020
With a tight chance of joining the playoffs for the first time in 17 years, rumors have unsurprisingly turned to the possible shakeup in the Browns roster after the 2019 season. In the middle of the speculations is Beckham, who has been repeatedly rumored not happy with his current team.
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen has now reported that an official of the Cleveland Browns just laughed when asked about the Beckham trade rumors. “He's not going anywhere,” the source said about the wide receiver. The 27-year-old wide receiver is under contract with the Browns until 2023.
NFL playoff pictures show that Beckham’s team’s chance of joining the 2019 playoffs is still alive. The Browns currently have 6 wins and 7 losses with three games remaining this year against the Arizona Cardinals (Dec. 15), Baltimore Ravens (Dec. 22), and Cincinnati Bengals (Dec. 29).
NFL rumors suggest Odell Beckham Jr. wants out of Cleveland
As mentioned, the trade rumors involving Beckham has followed a slew of reports with league sources claiming he has been telling people he is no longer happy. He addressed these claims on social media on late Friday and wrote on Twitter, “I NEVER said I was not happy in Cleveland, just like everyone else I’m hopeful for better results.”

However, Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer said in a pre-game report over the weekend that he has been suggesting to several coaches and players that he wants to be traded out of Cleveland. Glazer also emphasized that it was against Beckham’s choice to be sent to the Browns and added that he does not see Beckham and the Browns’ relationship having a happy ending after the 2019 season. The three-time Pro Bowl player has declined to comment on offseason chatters in an interview on Tuesday.
