Nintendo Switch 2 Delayed Again, Now Expected in 2025 as Fans Anticipate New Console

Nintendo delays Switch 2 reveal, aiming for a 2025 debut of new console.

Nintendo’s next-gen console, expected to be the Nintendo Switch 2, is now projected to debut in 2025. Toyo Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda suggests an announcement is unlikely this year, sparking anticipation about potential upgrades and features in Nintendo's awaited addition to the Switch lineup.

Nintendo Switch 2 Announcement Likely Delayed Until 2025

There is a high probability that Nintendo will not release the Nintendo Switch 2 until the end of the year. This is due to the fact that the formal launch of the system during a crucial season might have a substantial impact on the enterprise.

Toyo Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda discussed the unannounced system with Reuters, adding that it has become increasingly difficult to make an announcement before the year ends. This is because Nintendo would rather not draw attention to a new console during the crucial end-of-year shopping season.

Analysts Advise Against Holiday Reveal

In light of Nintendo's lackluster performance in the most recent quarter, Yasuda-san's statement is quite rational. The Japanese firm will undoubtedly seek a stronger final quarter of the fiscal year before committing fully to the Nintendo Switch 2.

According to a story from August, which stated that many developers were informed not to expect the console to launch in early 2025, as well as a reveal in the first few months of 2025, it is highly unlikely that the console will appear before April 2025.

New Console Development Details Remain Sparse

Aside from the fact that it has been in development for some time, there is not a lot of information that is currently available about the Nintendo Switch 2, WCCFTECH points out.

Rumor has it that the next console won't appear drastically different from the last one, and that it will feature NVIDIA DLSS and Ray Reconstruction, allowing it to outperform other systems of its generation in terms of performance and, perhaps, ray tracing.
