A significant leak from Game Freak has disclosed that a new Pokémon game, codenamed 'Gaia,' is slated for release on Nintendo Switch 2, fueling speculation about an upcoming Pokémon MMO.
Pokémon Gen 10 and Nintendo Switch 2 Game Leaked
According to previously unknown information that was discovered on the internet today, the Pokémon game for Generation 10 will be released on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and its predecessor.
A hacking attempt was successful, and more than a terabyte of data was taken from the Pokémon franchise developer Game Freak, according to the confirmed information.
Massive Data Breach Unveils Future Pokémon Projects
The leak contains the source code for older entries in the series, such as Black and White 2, as well as information on future projects, such as the Gen 10 game codenamed Gaia, which will be released on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and its predecessor. Additionally, the leak contains information on future projects.
In addition, the leak verified that the next Nintendo system is, in fact, having the codename "Ounce," as was previously disclosed.
Pokémon MMO and Synapse Game in Development
Not only was the next mainline entry in the Pokémon series that will be released on Nintendo Switch 2 disclosed today, but it was not the only future project that was disclosed.
Game Freak is also collaborating with ILCA on a game that is being dubbed Synapse. This game is a multiplayer and battle-focused game, and it appears like Game Freak is even working on the massively multiplayer online game (MMO) based on the franchise that fans have been waiting for for a very long time.
Game Freak Targeted in Major Hack
According to WCCFTECH, Game Freak, the business that is responsible for developing the Pokémon series, is the most recent game production company to have personal material stolen and leaked online.
Insomniac, the company that develops the Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank series created by Marvel, was the victim of a ransomware attack in the previous year. This incident resulted in a significant release of data that included specifics of upcoming projects as well as personal information of employees.
