As Season 4 of “Peaky Blinders” is currently in production, it has been confirmed that there will be some new (and old) additions to the cast.
“Game of Thrones’ star Aiden Gellen, who is known to portray in the fantasy drama as Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, will be joining alongside the rest of the cast members, The Independent reported. There are no details as to what Gillen will play in the show, but it will be interesting how show creator Steven Knight introduce Gillen’s character in the series, along with the addition of Hardy and Charlotte Riley returning to the series, and other new actor additions Adrien Brody and Charlie Murphy.
Cillian Murphy is also returning to the show as Tommy Shelby, who might play a significant role as the gang reaches the 1920s, including the fallout of the General Strike in 1926, The Sun reported.
Knight said, “I hope it does run and run all the way up to the Second World War, but it does get harder to get the cast together as the actors are being pulled into feature films. It’s a victim of its own success.”
Controller BBC Drama Piers Wenger added about the upgraded casting, "The stellar cast Peaky Blinders continues to attract is testament to Steven Knight's incredible storytelling and the world-class production values of this original series. To welcome these actors to this BBC Two series alongside the rest of the show's outstanding cast is incredibly exciting."
Although the premiere of Season 4 has yet to be revealed, the show’s tagline was revealed, as follows:
"When he receives a mysterious letter on Christmas Eve, Thomas Shelby realises that the Peaky Blinders are in danger of annihilation. As the enemy closes in, Shelby flees his country house and returns to the streets of Small Heath, Birmingham where a desperate fight for survival begins."
