Pizza Hut Japan Celebrates Tamagotchi's 20th Anniversary with Unique Pink-Dough Pizza and Exclusive Prizes
It has been 20 years since Bandai introduced the world to Tamagotchi Connection, a revolutionary handheld virtual pet with a built-in infrared communication feature. The model is being re-released to celebrate this milestone anniversary for a new generation to enjoy.
In addition to this exciting news for Tamagotchi fans, Pizza Hut Japan is joining the celebration with a collaborative lineup of eight special menu items, stickers, and customer prizes.
The collaboration features the Hut Melts, a new handheld style of pizza. This meal includes fries and two types of dipping sauces: honey mustard, which resembles the yellow color of Mametchi, and basil mayo, which matches the green hue of Kuchipatchi. The pizza has been designed with a pink color that matches the new Tamagotchi 20th anniversary model, marking the first time Pizza Hut has created a pink dough for a pizza.
The toppings are also unique, with an egg salad featuring a soft-boiled yolk, smooth egg white, and tasty mayo sauce. This combination, reminiscent of a Japanese-style egg sandwich, pairs well with other toppings like juicy bacon, potato salad with mayonnaise, and rich Gouda cheese. Pizza Hut describes this pink pizza as “a masterpiece.”
As an added incentive, Pizza Hut is giving away a free original sticker featuring a random Tamagotchi character transformed into a Pizza Hut employee to all customers who purchase the exclusive Hut Melts. By entering the password on the back of the sticker while using the Tamagotchi Connection, customers can also get a “pizza” item for their virtual pet.
Pizza Hut Japan Introduces Tamagotchi-Themed Meals and Prizes for a Limited Time Only
The “My Box” series, a popular one-person set meal in Japan, is getting a special edition that includes a combination of fluffy eggs and broccoli on the pizza in honor of Kuchipatchi’s forest home.
In addition to the meal sets, according to SoraNews24, four items on the side menu receive a Tamagotchi makeover for a limited time. The cute ninja pizzas, approximately 7.5 centimeters in diameter, come in four flavors: Garlic Shrimp, Beef Ribs, Mentaiko (Spicy Pollock Roe), Mayo Soy Sauce, and Teriyaki Chicken. Those with more enormous appetites can enjoy two unique full-size pizzas featuring a sausage crust and a small pack of honey maple syrup for added sweetness.
Beyond the edible delights, Pizza Hut is hosting a giveaway campaign in which 100 customers who purchase at least one collaborative menu item will be randomly selected to win prizes. Additionally, 20 residents of Japan who follow and like the official campaign post on Instagram or follow and repost the campaign post on Twitter will receive a silicone Tamagotchi pouch.
This celebration offers a lot of fun for Tamagotchi fans, but it won't last forever. The campaigns and unique menu items are only available from July 29 to September 1.
