Prince Harry went solo to the United States Grand Prix on Sunday to cheer on Lewis Hamilton and his teammate, George Russell.
Prince Harry Spotted in Public Without Meghan Markle
The Duke of Sussex went to Austin, Texas, for the Formula One event at the Circuit of the Americas without his wife Meghan Markle or their children Archie, 4, and Lilibet, 2. “He was enjoying being with the team and speaking to both Lewis and George pre-race,” an unnamed source told Page Six.
Although Prince Harry did not go down the hectic starting grid, he was observed standing in the pit lane talking to Russell about his Vintage Find collection and socializing with other VIP visitors. He sat in the team's garage, where he was subsequently joined by billionaire Elon Musk, and watched the race.
The Tesla founder arrived at the Mercedes complex more than an hour after the race began, accompanied by his son X, whom he shares with musician Grimes. Other celebrities that attended the Grand Prix were Drew Barrymore, Joe Jonas, Adam Driver, and Patrick Dempsey.
This was not Prince Harry's first time showing his support for Lewis Hamilton, a seven-time world champion. As a matter of fact, he used the Mercedes crew radio in 2014 to congratulate his fellow Briton on his second world title.
Politician Claims Americans Feel ‘Very Sorry’ For Prince Harry
Meanwhile, Lady Anne Glenconner, 91, a close family friend of all the royals, including King Charles, told a literary festival that John Kerry had told her that Americans "feel very, very sorry for Prince Harry." Per The Daily Beast, she said Kerry remarked in front of First Lady Jill Biden during King Charles III's Coronation.
Kerry, the first US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, did not explain why he felt sorry for Prince Harry, but a representative denied that he was commenting on Harry and Meghan Markle's marriage. Lady Glenconner was responding to an audience member's query regarding the Sussexes' decision to pull back from royal life at a public talk at the Barnes Book Fest in London.
She had previously criticized Prince Harry’s wife, claiming that Meghan had anticipated her royal existence to consist of going about "in gold coaches." She made the statement in response to an audience member who expressed appreciation for her words on Edward VIII's abdication and asked for her "observations" on the Sussexes.
“I used to know Harry when he was a little boy, because my (children’s) nanny Barbara and I used to go and see him. He was a lovely little boy. I think the thing about Meghan was, she had no idea what was expected of her really. I think she just thought it was sort of like being another actress, you know. Riding around in a golden coach and everything like that. Actually, being a member of the royal family is extremely boring…meeting hundreds of thousands of people you are never going to meet again. … I think it is very sad and I feel very sad for Harry,” Lady Glenconner said.
“At the [king’s] coronation, I happened to sit next to someone called John Kerry, who ran for president. He wanted to be president. And he came over with Mrs. Biden, because he is into green things, and we were sitting with the king’s friends, and I said to him, ‘What do you think in America about Harry and Meghan?’ and he just said, ‘We all feel very, very sorry for Harry. I think I can just leave it there,” she went on.
