In the midst of the Season 3 Rainbow Six Siege Tournament being held in Brazil, details of the upcoming Operation White Noise expansion were revealed. Adding a new map and three new characters in the game, the team-based online shooter is getting the Watch Dogs treatment, complete with hacking and camera disruption.
The new map is called Tower, which is located in the city of Seoul, South Korea, Kotaku reports. The map is comprised of three floors, which basically makes it a vertical battleground. Both attackers and defenders will be able to move around the floors as they please, which is riddled with cameras that both sides can use to their advantage.
There are also the three characters that will become available when the expansion goes live. They are Dokkaebi, Vigil, and Zofia.
Dokkaebi is the hacker of the group, who is able to interfere with communications as well as camera feeds. Players of the Ubisoft franchise Watch Dogs or the futuristic dystopian series Deus Ex will immediately find these particular mechanics familiar.
Vigil is basically the scout of the group, who has the ability to be invisible to camera feeds. This makes the character excellent at moving around the vertical location without giving away his presence to the defenders.
Finally, there’s Zofia who is a little more straightforward than the other two in terms of her role. She carries a grenade launcher that fires concussion and impact rounds. This makes her ideal in providing support whenever the battle becomes overwhelming for her team, Gamespot reports.
As of now, the official launch date for the test servers of the expansion is on November 20th. This should not be considered the release date for the expansion itself, but with details being scarce, it’s not impossible for the content to be available shortly after.
