It’s finally confirmed. “Red Dead Redemption 2” is going to require at least 99 GB of storage space for the PlayStation 4 and 107 GB for the Xbox One. That is if players buy a physical copy of the game. For PlayStation 4 gamers who are getting a digital copy, an additional 50 GB is required for the installation process.
Meanwhile, Rockstar Games has found themselves mired in controversy after Vulture published a story that has studio co-founder Dan Houser saying they had 100-hour work weeks while they were developing “Red Dead Redemption 2.” Houser would try to clarify his statement in an interview with Kotaku hours later by noting that only a few members of the writing team did this over three weeks. But soon, former employees would take to social media to vent their frustrations.
“I worked 80-hour weeks at Rockstar until I had a breakdown. If I hadn’t, my contract would have been terminated. There are plenty of ways to force a person,” a former quality assurance employee stated in a since-deleted tweet, according to The Guardian.
“It’s been nearly a decade since I parted from Rockstar, but I can assure you that during the GTA IV era, it was like working with a gun to your head 7 days a week. Be here Saturday & Sunday too, just in case Sam or Dan come in, they want to see everyone working as hard as them,” Job Stauffer, a former PR, and social media employee said.
Well, those allegations are damning if true, but current employees who have worked for the studio for years have come out to defend them as well. Right now, Rockstar Games are under fire due to the claims of poor working conditions, but this is unlikely to have a negative effect on the sales of “Red Dead Redemption 2.”
