Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are happily married, so when the “Deadpool” star joked that his wife was filing for divorce, many were not amused. At the recent San Diego Comic-Con, the former attended the “Deadpool 2” panel and he received questions from the audience.
At one point during the conference, he told the audience, “My wife’s been shooting a film overseas so I’ve been having a ton of time to pretend like I’m watching the kids," Time quoted him as saying. Then he added in jest, "She’s probably filing divorce papers as we speak.” Apparently, the last comment did not sit well with many people as most of them said they were not amused.
Those who reacted explained that divorce is not something to joke about especially now that even the ones who were perfect for each other end up going their separate ways. This is very true as people nowadays always hear about divorce happening in Hollywood.
But then others commented that this joking around is common with Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. They say it was just part of the husband and wife’s constant social media "feud," a game where they poke fun at each other on either Twitter or Instagram.
According to People, the couple really loves to kid around each other and they even do it in interviews. But even if this is the case, many insist that this type of joke is a “no-no,” especially with people like Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively who are in the entertainment world where divorce is like a common thing.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively tied the knot in 2012. They met at the set of “Green Lantern” in 2010 when Ryan was still married to Scarlett Johansson. The couple has two kids, 3-year-old James and 1-year-old Inez.
Meanwhile, Blake Lively is filming “The Rhythm Section” in Spain and Ireland and she is starring in a lead role in this spy thriller. It will be released in February 2019.
