Lotte Group is set to re-launch its Lotte Mart in Jamsil and will re-open with a new name on Dec. 23. The shopping place will not be called “Zettaplex” when it officially opens this Thursday.
The said Lotte Mart branch has been under renovation for more than a year now and it is now ready for re-opening. The company stated that it will be Lotte’s biggest supermarket outlet in the country.
With the improvements and new name, it was added that Zettaplex is also expected to set a new standard for groceries that will be built in the future. As per The Korea Times, the new Lotte supermarket also comes with a new slogan that reads: "We have everything you want."
Thus, Zettaplex will have almost all the things that the consumers may want and need. Aside from the usual grocery items, the new supermarket will also offer furniture, pet products, different wines, lifestyle products, and many more.
It was mentioned that Zettaplex’s new grocery store will have 30% more products compared to the other regular Lotte Mart outlets in S. Korea. To accommodate all the food on sale, the display shelves for them are said to be 30% longer too.
The section for fruit selection was also upgraded to have spaces for 12 different types of bananas, 11 kinds of berries, and 22 tomato varieties. Customers can easily pick their fruits as the produce are also neatly categorized according to their tastes so there are citrus and sweet sections.
There is also an aisle for salads and customers have over 150 kinds of items to choose from. These are vegetables that were grown in different methods like aquaponics.
Those who love wine will also love the Bottle Bunker wine store in Zettaplex. It is located on the first floor and occupies 70% of the entire floor area that measures 1,322 square meters. This means that thousands of wine selections are available with prices ranging from ₩10,000 or around $8.40 to as much as ₩100 million or $84,040.
Meanwhile, Korea Joongang Daily reported that Lotte Mart’s Jamsil branch that has been turned into Zettaplex measures 14,214 square meters and has a total of seven floors including the underground. "Zettaplex is a project that shows the future version of Lotte Mart,” Kang Sung Hyun, Lotte Mart’s chief executive officer, said. “We will make it into an iconic store that suits the modern lifestyles of our customers."
