In a surprising twist, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman refuted ongoing news about a new search engine; instead, rumors hint at a groundbreaking AI update integrating voice and visual recognition, which is set to be unveiled this Monday.
Sam Altman's Revelation: Beyond Search Engines
CEO Sam Altman put an end to reports on the internet that GPT-5, or a new search engine, was about to be released in a recent tweet. Instead, he dropped hints about "new stuff" that he thinks will capture people with its alluring qualities.
OpenAI, the renowned research organization, has unveiled its plans to display the most recent advances in artificial intelligence.
They announced a highly anticipated livestream event on Monday, May 13th, at 10 AM PT to demonstrate the latest iterations of their revolutionary models, ChatGPT and GPT-4, via their official X. The live-streaming event will be available on OpenAI's official website.
A Closer Look at OpenAI's Integrated AI Technology
The information (via Mashable) says that OpenAI is working on a technology that combines voice, text, and image recognition into a single product. For example, take pictures of your fridge and storage when you get home to find out what's for dinner. While cooking dinner, take a picture to help your child with their math exercise.
According to one source, the company might publicly showcase the updated AI as early as Monday, allowing it to move ahead of a spate of AI announcements from its rival Google later in the week.
In September last year, OpenAI announced voice and image capabilities, saying, "ChatGPT can now see, hear, and speak."
According to the publication, voice assistants are now far too big to run on personal devices. Still, customer support representatives might use cloud-based services that can identify sarcastic consumer behavior.
