The Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to set a lot of precedents for the smartphone market. While this is the company’s 10th device in the series, it hasn’t actually reached 10 years yet.
The Galaxy S1 was first released in June 2010, making the Samsung Galaxy S series 8 years old. Still, smartphone enthusiasts are expecting a lot from the South Korean company’s upcoming phone as it usually outfits its new flagship with better specifications, Mirror reported.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is rumored to have been given a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, a slight improvement from its predecessor, the S9, which has the Snapdragon 845. There is also the possibility of the new flagship having some form of AI processing, which will put it in line with the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.
What’s more, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will also feature a supersonic sensor capable of scanning the fingerprints of users. While there is no confirmation yet, rumors are saying that this technology is able to scan more than one finger at once, making this security feature a multilayer protection.
Samsung said that it opted to stay away from optical sensors since the technology isn’t reliable. The supersonic sensor of the Samsung Galaxy S10 is the company’s answer to the iPhone X’s facial recognition feature.
For its camera, the Samsung Galaxy S10 will have five – three on the back and two on the front. The trend for this sort of feature was started by the Huawei P20 Pro and it’s likely that Samsung will outfit its new flagship with a similar camera count.
The company has yet to announce the release date of the phone but it’s expected to drop sometime around the first quarter of 2019. Moreover, the price mark for the Samsung Galaxy S10 hasn’t been released yet but it’s expected to be around £799 ($1,048) and £899 ($1,179) for the standard and Plus models, respectively.
