Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre are collaborating once again, but not for music. The two are known in the music scene as rappers and producers, but they are teaming up to release ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails.
Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre announced the launch of their canned alcoholic drink called Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop. The new line of beverages was reportedly inspired by Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice" track that was released on Jan. 18, 1994, as part of his debut album.
New RTD Alcoholic Beverage Flavors
The business partners' new RTD product was unveiled on Monday, Feb. 12. The drinks were described as premium gin-based cocktail mixes.
As per Complex, the American rappers are dropping in retail outlets in the United States in four zesty flavors. Fans and customers can choose from these flavors to suit their tastes: Apricot, Citrus, Passionfruit, and Melon.
The Gin & Juice by Dre and Snoop beverages are the first products released under Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre's new high-end spirits company. They will be distributed nationwide through Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits. The two are set to launch more products in the future.
Cocktail Release to Celebrate Debut Anniversary
Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre have another reason for releasing their new alcoholic drinks. It is to mark the 30th anniversary of the former's "Doggystyle" debut album, which Dr. Dre produced. This explains why they also named the drinks after one of the songs in the said album.
"Look where we are at in our careers. Look at our age and look at what we have done, and we still love each other, so why not do something together?" Snoop Dogg explained in a press release why they have teamed up for the new drinks. "A lot of times people have been in a relationship for thirty years and cannot talk to each other, cannot hang out, so it is just fun to be in a partnership with people that you actually love."
Dr. Dre further commented, "Together, we always try to create magic, we are having fun being creative, and everything about this product is really us. There is passion behind it, and friendship and love and a culture. We are shooting to make everything we do magnificent, and fortunately, most of the time we hit the target."
