The San Antonio Spurs have tapped the services of Legends Global Partnerships to help secure a new naming rights partner for the team’s home arena, which has been known as AT&T Center since 2002 in a deal worth approximately US$2 million per year.
However, AT&T would not renew its agreement with the NBA franchise that ends after the 2021/2022 season.
It is yet unclear how much the Spurs are seeking for the sponsorship inventory.
Brandon Gayle, CEO of Spurts Sports & Entertainment (SS&E), the San Antonio Spurs owner, noted that their next arena naming rights partner would be able to reach and engage one of the most passionate and diverse fan bases in sports.
Legends Global Partnerships, the solutions arm of experiential agency Legends, offers commercial consulting services in naming rights, other venue entitlement positions, jersey sponsorships, mixed-use real estate development, premier events, and emerging entertainment platforms.
Most recently, Legends Global Partnerships represented the Las Vegas Raiders’ Allegiant Stadium, the Los Angeles Chargers’ and Rams’ SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles Football Club’s (LAFC) Banc of California Stadium, Columbus Crew’s Lower.com Field, and the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park.
