“The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is certainly one of the most anticipated anime shows to premiere this year. It is not surprising considering the success of the first season was.
The original, same title light novel series by Tsutomu Sato maintained its popularity over the years as well despite the lack of updates about the anime adaptation. Now that “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 has been officially confirmed, there are certain things fans should remember to prepare before the anime returns on air.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 will only cover one story arc
Anime fans should manage their expectations when it comes to the episode count of “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. It is very unlikely for it to have 26 episodes – like season 1 did in 2014 – because it is confirmed to cover the Visitor Arc only.
Some may argue that the said arc spans over three light novel volumes. That is true, however, season 1 covered four story arcs that Sato tackled in seven volumes. This means “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 is likely having around 12 or 13 episodes only.
“The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will be produced by Eight Bit
Madhouse worked on the first season, and the studio is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable names in the anime industry. However, fans should not worry about Eight Bit taking over for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2. Eight Bit and the confirmed production team for season 2 were the same people who worked on the 2017 anime film “The Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Calls the Stars.”
“The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will introduce a not-so-new character
The 2017 movie, no matter how huge of a production it was, featured a non-canon story. However, it did introduce a character named Angelina, who had a fairly significant role. Angelina is actually a canon character in the light novel and, thanks to the “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 confirmation, she will get his proper introduction in the anime series.

Fans no longer have to guess about “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2’s release date. The anime is confirmed to premiere sometime in July.
