Despite the lack of official word, many fans are expecting the release of “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4 anytime in the near future. However, if speculations are correct, it might not premiere anytime this year.
Back in August 2018, series creator Nakaba Suzuki confirmed that “The Seven Deadly Sins” the manga will be ending for good “in about a year” (via ANN) which means it could be sometime in summer 2019. Suzuki promised to deliver a conclusion that he has been planning since the start of the franchise. With that, fans are considering that the producers might just wait for the manga to finish before making announcements for “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4.
For now, fans can only speculate on the release date window of “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4 based on its schedules from the past years. The first season concluded in March 2015. It was followed by the four-episode run of the “Signs of Holy War” arc in August 2016.
There was a much longer wait before the third installment, “Revival of the Commandments,” was released in January 2018. But, on a good note, it had a total of 24 episodes that aired through late June of the same year. Considering these details, anime viewers are considering another two-year hiatus making 2020 a possible launch window for “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4. The year 2020 sounds even more plausible if one would consider the manga series ending in 2019.
Meanwhile, “The Seven Deadly Sins” season 4 will pick up from Meliodas leading the personified Seven Deadly Sins to be united and wage war while Elizabeth Liones promising him they will never be separated again. Their romantic story could be one of the running storylines to be explored once the anime series continues in the next couple of years. Reports also note that the Seven Deadly Sins are currently separated by the end of season 3. So the protagonists’ reunion would also be quite a spectacle.
