“The Walking Dead” Season 7 Spoilers: Norman Reedus Talks About Darryl-Carol Reunion; Is Jadis And The Scavengers “The Whisperers”?

Promotional poster for AMC's 'The Walking Dead'

In the tenth episode of “The Walking Dead” Season 7, fans of the Darryl and Carol loveteam rejoiced when the two finally reunited (again). Norman Reedus, who plays Darryl said the reunion with Melissa McBride’s character was a huge relief not only to fans, but even to the cast and crew of the AMC zombie drama.

He told Variety, “There are certain actors I’ve been with a while and totally trust and we have that rapport, we know it’s going to be good, and Melissa is one of them. We can throw rocks through windows and it’ll be great. It was like two kids on the first day of school. I don’t even know if that hug was in the script. Our first rehearsal of that scene, everyone was crying. Everyone on set was waiting for that to happen. We were waiting for it to happen as much as everyone on the show was. Everyone was like, “F—, finally.”

On the other hand, Reedus was not clear if Darryl and Carol will share more intimate moments together after the episode, as his character needs to be MIA following his escape from Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) clutches, Polygon notes.

Another much-talked about point was Rick’s potential new ally against Negan, in the form of new cast member Pollyanna Macintosh. Macintosh, who plays the Scavengers leader Jadis, put Rick to the test first after pushing him into the “pit of hell” to battle out a heavily-impaled and spiked ravenous walker. Although Rick got his hand badly injured, it was enough for Jadin to say yes to the cause, the Independent recapped.

But will she truly keep her word? If we’re basing it on the comic books, it could be. Macintosh also shared her insights about her character and her group, and whether they are the Whisperers, an organized and military-like group who wear the skins of walkers led by a woman named Alpha who has little care for the lives of others who threaten her group. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “I've heard a lot rumors about Alpha from the fans but I don't know anything about them. I knew that wasn't my character and I didn't want to sully my performance by reading the comics for the first time… As far as talking to producers or anyone on the show, it's never come up. I don't know anything about her; I just know it's not me.”

“The Walking Dead” airs on AMC Sunday nights at 9 p.m. ET.
