Fans may be excited to know that the earliest that AMC could air The Walking Dead season 10 finale could already be this July.
This after the state of California has already permitted film and television to resume production last June 12, 2020.
The season 10 finale—A Certain Doom was supposed to be aired last April 12. However, post-production was not able to finish working on it before everything was halted back in March following the World Health Organization's (WHO) declaration of the coronavirus (CoVid-19) as a pandemic.
Showrunner Angela Kang has told ComicBook.com that they were very close to completing the season finale before all work was stopped when quarantine was put in place in an effort to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
And, with film and TV production now allowed to resume, it won't be long when the season finale will be completed thus making it very possible for a July airdate.
According to Cartermatt, a July playdate would also be appropriate to coincide with the Comic-Con@Home which will be held from July 22 to 26. Considering that the finale will showcase a battle with the Whisperers which might lead to the death of a major character, AMC may tease the season 10 finale there before actually airing it.
The Tower, the last aired episode of season 10 had Ryan Hurst’s Whisperer Beta leading a pack of zombies toward the hideout in the hospital tower where Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan together with the other survivors were already surrounded. Thus, the finale will showcase another epic battle and a daring escape attempt.
Aside from showing a trailer of the season 10 finale, AMC could also throw in teasers for the upcoming season which would be something that fans could look forward to. We just couldn’t be sure if next year considering the pandemic crisis.
