The Season 1 finale of NBC’s critically-acclaimed series “This Is Us” left some fans high and dry about the Pearson family, including couple Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore). But the big blowout, and the walkout by Jack, at the end of Season 1 appeared to signal the change in the couple’s dynamics in the years to come.
Both actors recently confirmed this theory at Deadline’s The Contenders Emmys event. The actress, and the rest of the “This Is Us” cast shared the event with fifty other shows and twenty five other networks. When asked about spoilers for Season 2, Ventimiglia has this much to say, “There’s a lot happening for all of the Pearsons. Jack and Rebecca need to get their marriage on track because it’s crumbled and fractured.”
Moore added, “I think some of the answers people are looking for will be at least satisfied and satiated at the beginning of next season.”
Last month, Moore admitted that the open-ended finale wasn’t what their fans expected for the Dan Fogelman-helmed drama series. But she did reveal that she knows how Jack died, but fell short of letting people know when he’ll die. She said then, “I don’t think that’s what people necessarily saw coming. I don’t know what the next step is for these people… I know how Jack passes away. I have a vague idea when that happens. But I don’t know what the next steps are in any sort of specificity. I’m just as curious as anyone else. I really want to talk to Dan [Fogelman].”
