Entertainment Weekly published part of a script reportedly for the last episode of NBC’s “This Is Us,” and boy, it did not disappoint.
The script page somehow confirmed what fans are thinking: that the last episode will touch base on the story of Jack and Rebecca, wonderfully played by Milo Ventimiglia and Mandy Moore. This idea was already confirmed by writers Dan Fogelman, Isaac Aptaker, and Elizabeth Berger, Refinery29 said.
The script opens to a scene wherein Jack is fixing the car of a Mrs. Peabody. There was a lively exchange between the two, including serious topics like the war. When Mrs. Peabody asks Jack how he manages to stay sane after his stint in Vietnam, she then decided for some reason to hook Jack up with her best friend’s granddaughter.
"I wish I had a granddaughter for you… Wait a second now... I know a girl I think you’d like! My best friend’s granddaughter. Oh, Jack she’s the sweetest thing," Mrs. Peabody said.
Mrs. Peabody relentlessly urges Jack to agree on a date with the girl until he caves in.
Despite the wonderful scene, some fans think that Rebecca may not be the sweetest girl Mrs. Peabody thinks she is. When asked about the theory that she and current husband Miguel (Jon Huertas) conspired to kill Jack, Moore told E!, "Oh my god. No way. People are bananas. That is crazy."
However, she did say that the final episode will leave people in “pain, grief.”
I think the show is ultimately hopeful, and I feel like it leaves on that note as well, in the finale," she told Kristin Dos Santos.
