U.S. President Donald Trump has accused both Israel and Iran of violating a ceasefire agreement he helped negotiate. Speaking before departing for a NATO summit in The Hague, Trump expressed frustration, particularly toward Israel, claiming it launched a strike shortly after agreeing to halt hostilities. On his social platform, Trump warned Israel, “IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION,” urging an end to bombings.

The ceasefire, which aimed to stop nearly two weeks of deadly conflict, is now in jeopardy. Shortly after Trump’s announcement that the ceasefire was “in effect,” Israel reported new missile attacks from Iran. In response, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz ordered high-intensity strikes targeting Tehran, calling Iran’s actions a breach of the truce.

Iranian state media, however, denied launching attacks after the ceasefire took effect. Nevertheless, Iranian missiles reportedly killed four people in Israel, while an Israeli strike in northern Iran allegedly left nine dead, according to media sources.

Trump also claimed Iran’s nuclear capabilities had been neutralized. While Israel has long aimed to dismantle Iran’s nuclear and missile programs, Tehran insists its nuclear ambitions are peaceful. Both countries signaled they are not seeking further escalation but remain ready to retaliate.

Despite hopes the ceasefire would cool tensions, market reaction reflects skepticism. Oil prices initially dropped on news of the truce but recovered slightly amid renewed fears of continued violence. Earlier U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities and Iran’s symbolic retaliation against an American base in Qatar had raised expectations of de-escalation, which now appear premature as conflict risks persist.
