“Vikings” Season 6 is already being talked about in various forums even though the second half of the fifth installment has yet to air. This just goes to show that the anticipation for the historical drama is quite heavy, especially since the upcoming second half will prove to be the show’s bloodiest yet.
The fifth installment will have the sons of Ragnar battle it out, with the fate of Kattegat the prize for whoever wins the conflict. As of now, the city is controlled by the murderous Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen). Ivar has been shown as someone who is erratic and bloodthirsty, two traits that are speculated to see him dead this upcoming season. Of course, History hasn’t confirmed the death of the character just yet and Ivar might very well be returning in “Vikings” Season 6.
But the chances of that happening are slim since there are a lot of people who want to see Ivar dead, including his brothers Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) and Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig). The former’s intention is driven by the fact that Ivar has no heir, which means Hvitserk is in line to the throne. However, it’s still unknown how this character will carry out this fratricide, especially since Ivar is surrounded by his own personal guards. Perhaps Ivar will even get a whiff of Hvitserk’s treachery and Hvitserk himself will be the one not returning in “Vikings” Season 6.
Meanwhile, Bjorn’s motivation is due to his differences with his brother. Previous installments saw these characters butting heads with each other, with some scenes portraying their desire to commit fratricide, more so in the case of Ivar. In the upcoming installment, these differences will boil over to an outright war, with Bjorn sieging Kattegat and going after the head of his own brother. The plotline of “Vikings” Season 6 is still unknown at the moment since it will largely depend on how the fifth installment will unfold, Digital Spy reported.
There’s also no news regarding when “Vikings” Season 6 will air either. However, speculations would have it that fans will have to wait until November 2019 for the sixth installment to drop.
