The important gameplay details about “Warcraft 3: Reforged” have been announced months before its official release date was confirmed. However, if there is one thing that some fans have been wondering about its development, it is the possibility of having all-new DLC and expansions that were not released on the original title.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’: Should fans expect a new DLC for the remastered game?
“Warcraft 3: Reforged” is a remastered version of “Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos” from 2002. The new release includes the complete story campaign from the base game along with the content of the original expansion “The Frozen Throne.”
Blizzard ended up maintaining the original campaign and missions despite previous talks of a retroactive continuity (retcon) approach for “Warcraft 3: Reforged” to make it possible for the remastered game to be linked to the “World of Warcraft” lore if necessary. However, some fans still believe that there is room for extending the game by releasing new DLCs and expansions.
While retcon for the gameplay plot has been abandoned for the base game, it is not necessarily impossible for the future development of the game. Developers could eventually apply the retcon plans through all-new DLCs or expansions. It also appears that there are players who would love to see that happen. Unfortunately, Blizzard has yet to detail its plans for the future of “Warcraft 3: Reforged.”
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ official system requirements for Windows PC and Mac
For now, fans might want to focus on reliving the missions in the real-time strategy game from 2002 with much better visuals and animation since it has been released on Jan. 28. “Warcraft 3: Reforged” has been promised to support up to 4K resolution, but there are certain system requirements to enjoy the game in its maximum capacity.
The minimum system requirements to play “Warcraft 3: Reforged” with decent performance are not too high, which is good for new and long-time players. To get the best of the game’s visuals, Windows PC players should at least have an Intel Core i5-6400 / AMD Ryzen 7 1700X for the processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 / AMD Radeon R9 280X for GPU, and 8GB RAM. Blizzard had listed the complete PC requirements shortly before the game went live.
