The unveiling of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” in BlizzCon 2018 was one of the biggest announcements in the gaming world last year. Blizzard Entertainment is once again rebuilding the visuals of one of its popular titles without changing much about its campaign missions.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ gameplay: What to expect from the remastered title
Based on the gameplay details that were, so far, confirmed about “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” it is without a doubt a remastered release the real-time strategy game “Warcraft 3: Reign of Chaos” that was launched 16 years ago. The upcoming game also includes gameplay content from the original title’s expansion “The Frozen Throne.”
Blizzard has been advertising “Warcraft 3: Reforged” as giving avid fans a fresh look on the original “Warcraft 3” after developers have completely rebuilt all assets of the game. In the words of Blizzard, “You’ve never seen Azeroth like this.”
While major changes in the visuals and animations await, players are assured that the familiar gameplay content and main campaign missions will be retained. “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will ship with 62 missions spread out in over 40 hours of playing time. As fans can witness through the trailers, all characters will also have more defined and vibrant looks.
“Warcraft 3: Reforged” brings back four races, namely humans, orcs, undead, and night elves with key heroes in the “Reign of Chaos” and “The Frozen Throne” gameplay. While the campaign missions and story were not significantly tweaked, “Warcraft 3: Reforged” is more than just a better looking game. Blizzard improved the game’s balancing and matchmaking along with expanding options for custom games.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ release date: Will Blizzard fulfill its promise of launching the game this year?
The truth is that avid fans of the franchise would not need much convincing to purchase “Warcraft 3: Reforged,” and they are probably already wondering when the game is getting released. Battle.net still indicates a release date is set before 2019 ends.
Multiplayer beta has also been opened for several weeks now, and seeing that there is no change of plans announced yet could be a good sign for the “Warcraft 3: Reforged” release date. Per tradition, access to the beta is only by invitation. There is no specific way to make sure a player earns an invite, but purchasing the game’s Spoils of War edition for $39.99 increases their chances.
