Warner Bros Discovery Sports (WBD Sports) is partnering with Infinite Reality to create Web 3.0 and metaverse technology-powered immersive sports digital experiences.
The deal sees metaverse specialist Infinite Reality become the exclusive metaverse partner for Discovery Sports Events, which includes the FIM Speedway Grand Prix and the WTCR – FIA World Touring Car Cup.
The two parties will preview a metaverse experience during the UCI Track Champions League in December.
The digital experiences are meant to engage fans and build audiences for WBD Sport’ events and provide new commercial opportunities for partners and advertisers.
François Ribeiro, head of Discovery Sports Events, said that by breaking new ground in metaverse experiences around live sports events they will empower fans to engage with sports in new and exciting ways.
