Eversince NCIS bosses have revealed that the stoic Leroy Jethro Gibbs played by Mark Harmon will be showing more of his feelings in the upcoming season 18 of the military crime drama series, fans have been wondering if he will have a deeper bond with Timothy McGee portrayed by Sean Murray.
Not only because Gibbs is like a father figure to McGee or that they are already close friends but because in last April's season 17 finale, Gibbs have opened up to McGee.
Although Gibbs has gradually been doing this since season 16, it is still unusual for him to open up to someone.
In that season-ender, Gibbs had told McGee that Kuwait had taken something from him.
According to TV Insider, Gibbs becoming emotionally open is not something that happened abruptly recalling how he in season 16, he had opened up to his team about killing the man who had murdered his family.
In the same season, Gibbs also opened up to therapist, Dr. Grace Confalone played by Laura San Giacomo, about it and even went into personal details.
In season 17, Gibbs had to deal with the return of Ziva David played by Cote de Pablo, who was like a daughter to him. Not only was Ziva presumed to have already died but Gibbs had to save her by killing the mother of a boy with whom he had become a buddy.
Cartermatt reported that season 18 will no doubt unravel the most important stories about Gibbs.
It would be interesting how the NCIS bosses would go about softening up Gibbs.
Adding to the excitement is what executive producer Frank Cardea said that they will be wrapping up a mystery that was left hanging in season 16.
Cardea added that this was when Gibbs received a text and left for a few days and the executive producer said that there was a big reason behind it which we will find out in the upcoming season 18.
