“World of Warcraft Classic” is being touted by Blizzard as a full re-experience of the game’s vanilla version. At first, others were skeptical that the company would truly capture the nostalgia that the MMORPG offered back in the day.
But with each update made by the “World of Warcraft Classic” team, the developers have slowly gained the trust of the community. The latest news surrounding the upcoming game came from community manager Kaivax where he specifically talked about spells.
“For [World of Warcraft] Classic, we’re moving spell casts to a low-priority loop that will cause them to be processed at the frequency that best fits how the game actually played in version 1.12. Two mages will be able to Polymorph each other somewhat reliably, resulting in two sheep nervously pacing around at range. Two warriors will be able to Charge one another, and the end result will be both warriors standing stunned in each other’s original location.”
Following the update, players who are eagerly waiting for “World of Warcraft Classic” were ecstatic and praised the team for how they’ve been handling everything so far. Part of the reason why the community is happy is that this faithfulness in spell batching will provide a PvP experience authentic to the vanilla version.
A similar sentiment has been given to the “World of Warcraft Classic” team last week when they announced a fix for a possible loot abuse that might occur. In it, Kaivax explained that soulbound gears that are found in a five-man content will not be tradeable at any time. The concern surrounding this issue is that a four-man team with one pickup player might troll the additional and deny him/her of specific gears.
Fortunately, the community recognized this loophole and made their concerns known to the developers. After careful consideration from the “World of Warcraft Classic” team, they opted to follow the advice of players, which made the community happy. Listening and coordinating with players is one of the major foundations that makes a game successful. And Blizzard appears to be religiously following this rule.
As for the release date, the studio has yet to provide a specific time when “World of Warcraft Classic” will come out. The only info that Blizzard confirmed is that it’ll drop sometime this summer.
