Microsoft has announced the list of free games that will be added to the Xbox Game Pass library this month. The company has confirmed eight additions so far, but a couple of titles will likely stand out.
The first lineup of games coming to the Xbox Game Pass catalog will be available on Thursday, Oct. 7. The list includes “Totally Accurate Battle Simulator,” which features ragdoll physics battle simulation gameplay, the adventure game “The Procession to Calvary,” and the indie psychological horror game “Visage.” All three games will be accessible through Windows PC, Xbox consoles, and xCloud-supported devices.
“Back 4 Blood,” an all-new game developed by Turtle Rock Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, is launching on Tuesday, Oct. 12. It will be available to Xbox Game Pass members on day one through PC, consoles, and xCloud. It will feature first-person multiplayer gameplay set in a post-apocalyptic world following a global parasite outbreak. While the title is new, fans have considered it a follow-up to the popular “Left 4 Dead.”
Fans of multiplayer games who have not yet played “Destiny 2” are getting a chance to try it for free if they have an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass. It will be available on the game streaming service on Oct. 12 as well. Bungie has released the game on multiple platforms, but its addition to Xbox Game Pass will be limited to Windows PC users only.
The roguelike card crawler title “Ring of Pain” will be added to the Xbox Game Pass (PC, cloud, and console) on Thursday, Oct. 14. It will coincide with the launch of the base-building RPG “The Riftbreaker,” which will also come to Game Pass on day one via cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
Another game launching this month with day-one availability on Xbox Game Pass is “The Good Life,” arriving on Friday, Oct. 15. In this RPG sim, players will follow the story of journalist Naomi Hayward tasked to investigate a mysterious village called Rainy Woods.
New Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play all titles in its library for only $1 in their first month of using the service. But regular memberships cost $10 on PC or console and $15 for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which grants access to PC, console, and cloud games. The Ultimate plan also comes with other perks, such as free Xbox Live Gold and EA Play subscriptions.
