There appears to be a trend among smartphone makers of launching their next premium devices earlier than their usual timeline. Xiaomi is one of the tech companies expected to follow a new schedule, and it is expected to launch the Mi 11 series in a few weeks.
Xiaomi Mi 11 release date: Device launching before New Year’s Eve?
The Mi 9 and Mi 10 lineups were both released in the month of February in 2019 and 2020. However, previous reports suggested Xiaomi could be launching the Mi 11 a couple of months earlier than anticipated. Now, a new report has provided a more specific release window.
A report from GizmoChina claimed that the Mi 11 will be announced on Dec. 29 and would also go on sale immediately. That would mean Xiaomi fans might be able to order the device just before New Year’s Eve.
If Xiaomi is, indeed, planning to unveil the Mi 11 lineup before the end of the year fans should expect to see some teasers online very soon. As with other leaks, tech fans should take this report with a pinch of salt. But it is also worth noting that the Dec. 29 information reportedly came from a source who accurately predicted the Mi Watch Lite release date.

Fans may also recall that Xiaomi has, at least, confirmed the release of Mi 11 in the near future. The company was one of the smartphone makers to welcome the launch of Snapdragon 888 earlier this month. In a post on its social media page, Xiaomi announced that the new mobile processor will have its “world debut” through the Mi 11. That means the device is slated to be the first smartphone to arrive in the market with the chipset.

Not much is known about the Mi 11 specs aside from its confirmed CPU. However, famous leaker Ice Universe has previously shared a photo showing a “protective film” for the upcoming device. Judging from its shape, it appears that Xiaomi is going to release the Mi 11 with a curved screen.
