Xiaomi Unveils Hypercar SU7 Ultra: A Carbon Fiber Masterpiece Set to Challenge Nürburgring with 1,548 Horsepower

Breaking new ground, Xiaomi, a renowned smartphone manufacturer, has unveiled the prototype for a hypercar variant of the recently released SU7 electric vehicle (EV). The company's founder announced this significant move in an address just a few days ago.

At Xiaomi's annual speech, Founder Lei Jun introduced the SU7 Ultra, a vehicle that redefines automotive technology. This high-performance vehicle, a modified upgrade variant of the recently released Xiaomi SU7, is designed to compete on the Nürburgring race track in Germany. With a top speed exceeding 350 km/h (~217.48 mph), an acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 1.97 seconds (0-60 mph in ~1.9 seconds), and 1,548 horsepower, the SU7 Ultra is a clear testament to Xiaomi's unwavering commitment to innovation.

The XU7 Ultra is composed entirely of carbon fiber and weighs approximately 4,188 pounds. According to the company, the SU7 Ultra can be fully charged in under 12 minutes using the CATL Qilin fast-charging battery. The company is also striving to achieve an exceptional lap time with the SU7 at the Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit in October, as it disclosed on X.

Xiaomi still needs to disclose pricing information for the SU7 Ultra. However, the Standard, Pro, and Max are priced at $29,700, $33,832, and $41,261, among other EV variants.

Xiaomi Ramps Up SU7 EV Production with Record-Breaking Preorders and Enhanced Factory Efficiency

Since its official launch in March, Xiaomi has been dedicated to meeting the demand for the SU7 EV. According to Teslarati, the company delivered more than 10,000 units and announced in May its intention to increase its SU7 delivery target by approximately 20%. This commitment was further demonstrated when the company reported that it received nearly 89,000 preorders for the EV in less than 24 hours.

With the implementation of a two-shift production schedule, Xiaomi has demonstrated its production efficiency at its factory in the Yizhuang district of Beijing. The facility can produce one SU7 every 76 seconds, approximately 40 units per hour, showcasing Xiaomi's manufacturing prowess.
