Yohji Yamamoto's Japan 2024 Kits Pay Tribute to 'Samurai Blue' with Unique Flame Design
Yohji Yamamoto has a history of designing football uniforms, as evidenced by his Y-3 label's extensive collaboration with Real Madrid and its partnership with Palace. However, his most recent endeavor is his most personal yet. According to Hypebeast, Yamamoto designed the 2024 kits for Japan's national football team, and the team's upcoming home shirts have recently begun circulating on football fan pages.
Yamamoto's design for the national football team is a unique tribute to the team's moniker, “Samurai Blue.” The uniform features an ultra-dark navy foundation, distinct from the royal blue of Japan's 2022 international kits and the sky blue of its centenary kits from 2021. A simmering blue flame, a symbol with a rich history in the team's culture, is the centerpiece of the design. It extends from the bottom hem to the front left shoulder, using a sublimated technique similar to the Real Madrid and Palace kits. The team's crest and a Y-3 logo on the center chest add the final touches to this distinctive design.
Flame graphics have long held a special place in the team's history. In 1998, the first year they qualified for the World Cup, they wore flame-embellished jerseys from ASICS, which are now considered legendary.

Adidas Launches Massive YEEZY Day Restock, Offering 30+ Styles Amid End of Ye Partnership
Adidas has recently launched a significant YEEZY Day replenishment, a highly anticipated event in the fashion world. This release, initially rumored in May, is unprecedented and covers almost every phase of Ye's (formerly Kanye West) partnership with the brand. It includes many models, from the iconic YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 to the more recent popular styles like the YEEZY Slide and the YEEZY KNIT RNNR, offering something for every YEEZY fan.
In December 2013, the brand and the artist/designer formally announced their partnership. The line expanded into a juggernaut over the next decade, with YEEZY sales projected to reach USD 1.8 billion in 2022. However, Adidas terminated the partnership in response to Ye's frequent public criticism of the brand, including claims that Adidas did not seek approval before implementing YEEZY Day and his rash of antisemitic comments. Consequently, this extensive resupply could be interpreted as Adidas' attempt to dispose of the partnership's final remnants by selling all YEEZY stock.
As of this writing, the Adidas website and the CONFIRMED app offer over 30 distinct YEEZY styles in adult and child sizes. Numerous other pairs are also designated with a "Coming Soon" marking. Per previous media reports, the designs were expected to be available until June 14. No returns or exchanges are permitted; all transactions are final.
