Professor in Education, Department of Education and Lifelong Learning, Northumbria University, Newcastle
I have been involved in research and innovation in a range of areas of education, from early years and schools through to higher education, for over 15 years. I am particularly interested in school and multi-agency collaboration for educational improvement, educational leadership, and supporting teachers and practitioners in participatory research and enquiry. My current research includes looking at effective collaboration among schools, health and social services to support vulnerable children and young people and a number of small scale practitioner enquiry projects with schools in the North East.
I took up the post of Professor in Education at Northumbria University in June 2014. Prior to that I was Senior Research Fellow and Reader in Education in the Centre for Developmental and Applied Research in Education (CeDARE) at University of Wolverhampton.
