A proud Humanities graduate, I am passionate about higher education in a global context. I enjoy the huge challenge of educational leadership and the scope of experience it offers. My contribution to the higher education sector has been across both Australia and New Zealand, and I have played a role as an educator and as a researcher. I am a research assessor for the Australian Research Council, and am a current Humanities panel member for the Royal Society of New Zealand's Marsden Fund. I am a historian of health and medicine, especially mental health, and my recent book Why Talk About Madness? appeared in 2020 with the Palgrave series Mental Health in Historical Perspective.
