There is much that can be said about the regular iOS updates that Apple puts out but boring is certainly not one of them. This is still the case with iOS 12.1.4 where the update provides more convenient features for the users and better security. However, it would appear that there are those who are finding issues with it.
As TechSpot reports, iOS 12.1.4 addresses a lot of issues related to Apple devices that fixes them for the convenience of the users. Not only does it shore up the security levels of the gadgets, but it also dealt with the bugs that have been plaguing iPhone fans for a while. Unfortunately, even as it addressed existing problems with the Apple products, the update also caused some new ones and they appear to be quite serious.
In one case, for example, it would seem that SIM card rejection can occur after installing iOS 12.1.4. So far, this appears to be the most problematic issue with the update and it seems that it only affects a few people. As concerning as not being able to use a SIM card anymore is, though, this update is still more worthy of downloading than not.
The many security upgrades that come with the iOS 12.1.4 are not worth ignoring. They provide plenty of protection against modern dangers and the antimalware capabilities of Apple devices are improved with the update. Without those features, users become more vulnerable to getting their phones hacked and personal information stolen.
There is also the matter of the subscription management improvements that come with the iOS 12.1.4. Basically, users who downloaded and installed the update will be able to manage their various subscriptions to apps on the App Store with fewer steps. This allows more users to access the feature more easily, especially those who can’t be bothered to dive into the settings.
