Melania Trump is the wife of the 45th president of the United States thus she has become the country’s First Lady. However, a body language expert found that it was hard for the former supermodel to accept her new role at first.
The 50-year-old has been known as America’s First Lady since Donald Trump was inaugurated as the nation’s leader. And in the three years that she has been in the White House, an expert reveals that Melania Trump’s body language shows that she did not fully take her role right away.
Possible reasons why she refused to fully accept her position at the White House
Express reported that there are reasons why the FLOTUS did not embrace her position immediately. It was suggested that one reason could be the sudden shift in her role.
She was working as a model for years and has become a businesswoman just before Donald Trump won in the election. Suddenly, she has to give this all up to serve as America’s First Lady.
"It was clear from the outset, this was not going to be a role Melania was going to embrace,” body language expert Darren Stanton told the publication. "In her time in the White House, I have seen Melania openly demonstrate signs of disdain and contempt at times."
Melania’s tasks as the FLOTUS
Like the previous First Ladies at the White House, Melania Trump holds the task of hosting state dinners, holiday celebrations and other events. She also has to have her own campaigns like the “Be Best” initiative where she would back certain groups for the benefit of women, children and others.
Since her tenure as the FLOTUS, she has successfully carried out her roles. Over time, she managed to feel at ease and has been doing her tasks without worries. For these changes in her, the body expert revealed that Melania Trump is now taking her role seriously, and she’s comfortable and happy with her works for the people.
"Melania is not one that can hide her fake smiles well,” Stanton said. "You can always tell a fake smile because only half the face is engaged and regardless of age you will always see crows feet at the sides of the face and recent photos capture genuine happiness and Melania is clearly happy."
