Fans want “A Series of Unfortunate Events” season 4 and the clamor for it was even heightened when the third season aired early this year. Currently, season 3 is airing on Netflix with seven episodes and these stories were dropped all at once.
Since fans can binge-watch the entire third chapter after Netflix released it on Jan. 1, they want the “A Series of Unfortunate Events” season 4 now. But unfortunately, the show is not coming back anymore according to What’s On Netflix. It ended in the previous season with finale episode aptly titled “The End.”
This will disappoint the show’s followers but the conclusion of “A Series of Unfortunate Events” was not really surprising because the lead star of the show, Neil Patrick Harris who plays Count Olaf, already revealed last year that their fantasy drama is ending soon.
The actor who is also “A Series of Unfortunate Events” producer confirmed to TV Guide that it was their plan to end the show after three seasons. "We're three seasons all in," he told the publication.
"We've intentionally been very truthful and factual and loyal to the books," Harris continues,” he added and went on to say, "We've added a few characters that aren't in the books, we've added some songs that you probably couldn't put into the books, but for the most part we're sticking to the structure of what already worked."
While there will be no “A Series of Unfortunate Events” season 4, Screen Rant suggests that a spin-off is possible. The news outlet wrote that Daniel Handler, the author of Lemony Snicket’s children’s novels, has written more books that were also set with the Baudelaires and V.F.D. so there is a big chance that these novels will be dramatized for the small screen too.
The possibilities are endless with the other books so fans of the “A Series of Unfortunate Events” can still look forward to more Baudelaires stories even if season 4 is not in the cards anymore.
