US Soccer extended its long-term apparel partnership with sportswear giant Nike dating back to 1995 in what it describes as the ‘largest commercial agreement in its history.
It added that the deal, reportedly for ten years, was also among Nike’s largest soccer federation investments globally.
Based on the deal, the Oregon-based Nike will provide kit sfor all US Soccer’s national team programming, including its senior women’s and men’s sides, as well as youth, para, futsal, and beach.
Additionally, Nike and US Soccer will focus on growing women’s soccer and provide greater access to the game to make it the most inclusive sport in the country.
The deal's renewal was grounded around four priority areas, including driving inclusivity, showcasing sustainability efforts, elevating the profile of the women’s game, and driving cultural relevancy through content, art, and lifestyle.
Cindy Parlow Cone, president of US Soccer, credited Nike for its major role in the federation's growth as well as the tremendous support it placed behind many of its players over the years.
Becca Kerr, Nike's vice president and general manager for North America women’s, added they want more kids, especially girls, to fall in love with the sport because of positive early experiences with soccer.
