‘Avengers: Infinity War’ directors Joe and Anthony Russo are considering various Marvel characters for their upcoming superhero film. The brothers may be hinting at the possibility of bringing in television characters to join the existing film heroes. Meanwhile, they also expressed their excitement at possibly working with Brie Larson and her character Captain Marvel.

According to Cinema Blend, Joe and Anthony Russo revealed that they were considering bringing in a host of characters presumably from both the film and television properties in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) for their upcoming superhero team-up film.

The Russo brothers may be considering having some Netflix characters make big screen appearances including Daredevil and Jessica Jones, according to the Toronto Sun. Anthony Russo said, “We do consider everyone… We don’t want to get too specific about what’s going to happen with these movies. We want these movies to be a surprise for audiences.”

The news comes months after the directorial duo’s previous statements that they would prefer to put more focus on existing characters in the ‘Avengers’ films. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Marvel Television’s Jeph Loeb also ruled out film and television crossovers in previous interviews. Logistical difficulties were some of the considerations cited.

Loeb said, “I can tell you that part of the challenge of doing this sort of thing is that the movies are planned out years in advance of what it is that we are doing. Television moves at an incredible speed. The other part of the problem is that when you stop and think about it, if I’m shooting a television series and that’s going to go on over a six-month or eight-month period, how am I going to get Mike [Colter] to be able to go be in a movie? I need Mike to be in a television show.”

He continued, “As I often get reported by you folks for saying #ItsAllConnected, our feeling is that the connection isn’t just whether or not somebody is walking into a movie or walking out of a television show. It’s connected in the way that the shows come from the same place, that they are real, that they are grounded.”

Meanwhile, Joe and Anthony Russo admitted that they hoped to reteam with Brie Larson for ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. Although Larson has been confirmed for a standalone film ‘Captain Marvel’, it remains unknown whether her character will be introduced in the upcoming ‘Avengers’ film.

Joe Russo gushed, “It’s an incredible piece of casting. You couldn’t ask for better. Not only is she an amazingly talented actor but she’s a wonderful human being. We’re really looking forward to the opportunity of re-teaming with her… if we were to get the chance to work with that character.”

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is an upcoming action-adventure and superhero film directed by Joe and Anthony Russo and written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. It is produced by Kevin Feige with Victoria Alonso, Louis D’Esposito, Jon Favreau, Alan Fine, and Stan Lee executive producing.

The film is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2018.
