‘Black Sails’ Season 4, Episode 6 Spoilers: “XXXIV." – Eleanor Brokers Peace Deal while Flint Breaks Promise

Toby Stephens plays Captain Flint on Starz' 'Black Sails'

‘Black Sails’ season 4’s episode 6, titled “XXXIV," is set to follow Eleanor as she attempts to broker peace negotiations while Flint will break a promise.

The synopsis for episode 6 posted on TV Buzer states, “Eleanor (Hannah New) brokers the peace, while Rackham (Toby Schmitz) learns the hard way. Flint (Toby Stephens) breaks a promise and Bonny (Clara Paget) loses control.”

In the previous episodes, Flint offered himself as collateral and surrendered to Eleanor. He hoped to get John Silver (Luke Arnold) to retrieve the buried Urqa treasure for her in order to end the conflict threatening to tear Nassau apart for good. It seems that Eleanor put it on herself to follow-through with this compromise and lead a peace deal.

Flint’s well-intentioned strategy drew him the ire of some of the pirates as he was seen as someone imposing it on himself to give away their gold. Now, it seems that Flint and Eleanor have successfully put themselves in difficult positions as they need to rely on others to follow through with their plans. According to the recap posted on IGN, the plan began to fail when Woodes (Luke Roberts) proved to be a huge obstacle by refusing to heed his wife’s request.

Meanwhile, John Silver had a few ideas of his own since he objected the plan even in the beginning. Episode 5 saw Israel Hands (David Wilmot) getting involved in helping Silver make a crucial decision over the matter. Hands’ unorthodox and straightforward counseling surely has rewards as well as repercussions for John Silver’s mission.

‘Black Sails’ season 4’s episode 6, titled “XXXIV," is scheduled to air on March 5, 2017 on Starz and was directed by Steve Boyum. It will be followed by episode 7, titled “"XXXV," scheduled to be released on March 12 and directed by Lukas Ettlin.

The adventure-drama television series is a prequel to Robert Louis Stevenson’s iconic novel ‘Treasure Island,’ and is set on New Providence island.
