Most “Call of Duty: Warzone” fans have their eyes set for the updates to be introduced in season 3. However, a new report suggests that plans are already in place for updates slated in 2022, and it might include a new World War 2-themed map.
‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ 2022 update might include a WW2-themed map
“Call of Duty: Warzone” season 3 is expected to launch soon, and players are expecting it to include a new map. But well-known “Call of Duty” leaker Tom Henderson reported that it is not the only map in the pipeline for the free-to-play online multiplayer.
Henderson claimed that a new “Call of Duty: Warzone” map would be introduced in 2022. “It might not be a full-fledged map, but we should be getting a WW2 experience in ‘Warzone,’” he added. The source also suggested that the upcoming map could be somewhat similar to the Rebirth Island location that was added in the multiplayer as it was integrated with the “Black Ops - Cold War” content.
There will be a new Warzone map of some kind in 2022. It might not be a full-fledged map, but we should be getting a WW2 experience in Warzone. Possibly a Rebirth Island type map :)

This goes against all the current bits of info flying around, but I'm confident in that.
The “Call of Duty” tipster also noted that having a WW2 map launched in 2022 does not correspond with other ongoing rumors. Earlier this month, it was reported that the all-new “Call of Duty” game arriving later this year would go back to the franchise’s roots and feature a title and gameplay inspired by the Second World War. If “Warzone” would also be integrated with the upcoming game’s contents, that would mean the WW2 map could launch before 2022. However, Henderson told his followers he is “confident” about his information.
It is unclear how the 2022 map would be similar to Rebirth Island. But the currently available “Call of Duty: Warzone” location was based on a real-life area called Vozrozhdeniya Island. Rebirth Island is also smaller compared to the first “Warzone” map, Verdansk, and only accommodates 40 players in every match.
‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ season 3 possible release date, gameplay
Henderson also reported that the WW2-themed map to be added to “Call of Duty: Warzone” in 2022 is different from the map anticipated to launch this spring. The online multiplayer has been rumored to add a new map designed based on the Ural Mountains. Players are also speculated to encounter zombies in the current maps along with an imminent in-game nuke event that would destroy Verdansk and set up the game for season 3.
Activision has yet to reveal specific details about “Call of Duty: Warzone” season 3. However, it is likely to start as soon as April 22, considering the expiration period of the current Battle Pass.
