The drama between Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are heating up, with the narrative encompassing the company as a whole. A few days ago, Ambrose confronted The Architect and challenged him to match in the upcoming WrestleMania 35.
Seth Rollins is in a unique position to choose who will headline with him in the huge event. Right now, Daniel Bryan and Brock Lesnar are the two likely candidates that are heavily favored to go in the ring with Rollins. This isn’t surprising since both fighters are holding their respective prestigious titles. Given that this is the case; Dean Ambrose has opted to not renew his contract with WWE as he feels his career will remain at a standstill if he re-signs, CBSSports reported.
The company has confirmed this news and release a statement about the matter. “Dean Ambrose [Jonathan Good] will not be renewing his contract with WWE when it expires in April. We are grateful and appreciative of all that Dean has given to WWE and our fans. We wish him well and hope that one day Dean will return to WWE.”
While this is speculation at this point, it’s believed that Dean Ambrose will be taking his talents to the emerging All Elite Wrestling slated to launch this year. If so, then the fighter could potentially provide a second spark to his career, headlining for the company as it tries to rise off the ground with flair.
However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider is still confident that Dean Ambrose and WWE could still reach an agreement to keep the former happy, Sportskeeda reported. Johnson said that since Ambrose is still under contract until April, he’ll still be touring with the company until then. As such, there’s still a chance that the narrative will change. The question now is what sort of deal is WWE willing to provide the fighter and will Ambrose agree to such terms if given the chance? All of that remains to be seen.
At the moment, most of the noise being generated in the industry is the impending WrestleMania 35 that’s slated to occur on April 8. Hopefully, Dean Ambrose and WWE can find a middle ground as it would be a shame to part ways with Ambrose given that his history with the company.
